Drayage quote information checklist

A useful drayage quote depends on operational details. The more complete the shipment information is, the easier it is to decide whether the move is standard drayage, urgent pickup, pre-pull, storage or transload.

Required basics

Provide origin terminal or port, destination address, container size, gross weight, shipment timing, last free day and receiving appointment window.

Helpful details

Commodity, floor-loaded or palletized status, PO/reference number, receiver contact, unload method, and whether storage or transload may be needed all help reduce back-and-forth.

Why ABFBA asks

The goal is not to make the form longer. The goal is to avoid quoting a simple move when the shipment actually needs a different operating plan.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I request a quote before I have the container number?

Yes. A planning quote can start with port, destination, container size, weight and timing. Final dispatch details may require the container number later.

Is ZIP code enough for destination?

ZIP code is enough for an early estimate, but the full address is needed before dispatch.

Should I mention storage even if I am not sure?

Yes. If there is any chance the appointment will not match LFD, mention it so ABFBA can review storage or pre-pull options.

Next step

Send the container, LFD, destination and appointment details to ABFBA.

ABFBA reviews the real operating conditions and confirms whether direct delivery, pre-pull, yard storage or transload is the better plan.
